Speech Delivered By JUSAG President Elect At SSAJUG 1ST TRIENNIAL DELEGATES CONFERENCE, KNUST 5th October,2022

Mr. Chairman, with your permission, I stand on the existing protocols to deliver this goodwill message. On behalf of myself and the entire membership of JUSAG, I greet you all.
Today is not for only SAJUG members but a day for every staff of the Judicial Service of Ghana. For, it is time to reflect, face our challenges and take advantage of our opportunities. It is time to come up with new strategies that will guide us to selflessly toil to improve the working conditions of staff.
Comrades, the act of collectively working together for the welfare of all is the beauty of unionism. Embarking on the journey of union politics has taught me a valuable lesson. It taught me that, unions work best when members’ views are sought and their inputs incorporated in every decision taken by its leaders. Good representation through leadership is therefore a strong criteria for strong unionism of which I have no doubt SAJUG will make the right decision as you go through your deliberations.
Mr. Chair, in as much as we fight for the interest of our members, we must also not lose sight of our core mandate which requires of us to always protect the image of our pristine institution. We must focus on using the right tools for the right reasons. We should not for once let our actions and inactions bring the name of the Service into disrepute. Report to work on time, be diligent at your post, treat colleagues and court users fairly and above all ensure payment of services are receipted
When I assume office, as part of my core mandates, I will be representing all staff at Judicial Council as JuSag is the only Constitutionally recognised mouthpiece and bargaining Certificate holder on behalf of all workers of the Judicial Service. I intend to use broad consultations from every sphere of leadership which includes SSAJUG, to enable me represent the valuable interest of the staff particularly on promotion, upgrading, pensions and any other issue bothering staff development. Looking into my open door policy, I will like to reiterate that the door of the mother association (JUSAG) is always opened to every staff to walk in at anytime. I know it scary fighting alone, but in unity, there is strength and this strength will inure to our interest if we work together.

On that note, Mr. Chair, I must add that, it has always been my prayer and desire, that one day, members of JUSAG and SAJUG will come together to build a resilient and a secure future for all.
Have a fruitful Conference.

Thank you.
